چکیده
The present study is an attempt to examine the relationship between contemporary or critical (as we argue) translation studies (CTS) and critical discourse analysis (CDA). A number of critical, modern and salient translation theories, to this end, as representative and purposive samples, are compared to CDA-oriented theories. Elaborating on the relationship between translation theories and CDA, ideology, and power relations, it is argued for the unity, as opposed to diversity, among these fields of inquiry through exemplifying critical discourse analysis application to a translational case from political genre. The findings suggest that contemporary translation studies should more often than not take into consideration the application of systematically shaped and detailed qualitative and emancipatory research approaches like critical discourse analysis to its field of inquiry on the grounds that modern or critical, as it is argued here, translation studies is in one way or another following, in effect, the same way.کليدواژه ها
