Abstract Academic communication skills are one of the factors that are essential among university students. Through their years in the university, students face with situations, where they have to use their communication skills, such as group assignments and class presentations. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the perception of instructors and students regarding academic communication skills. This study also explored whether the first and second year students‘ perception is different from third and fourth year students. Data were collected from 120 participants via a questionnaire and it consisted of 40 elements in communication skills, including speaking, listening, reading and writing sub-skills. The data were quantitatively analyzed using descriptive statistics to find students‘ and instructors‘ perspective and t-test to search whether there is significant difference between first and second year students perspective and third and fourth year students attitude. The results of this study found that university students and instructors are in favor of speaking and writing skills and there is no statistically significant difference between two groups of students perspective.کليدواژه ها
